Reduce Video size with Dr.DivX
Do you have lots of videos taken from your digital camera and find the size of each file large enough that you can’t upload them to any video sharing sites like youtube or google video? Then here is the solution.
1. Download and install the DivX Player and DivX Codec from DivX Labs . Exit all other applications including firefox before starting the encoding process. Double-click the Dr.DivX icon in your desktop.
2. Open the big video file. Click the radio button quality and select high performance.
3. On the right hand side near the Title give a name for your output file. Don’t forget to specify the output directory by clicking the nearby tiny button. Let us create a directory called encoded in the Desktop i.e., Desktop/encoded
4. Click the Encode button at the bottom right side.
5. A new window is seen now. Click the resume button. The encoding will start. Open the output file after encoding process is over.
You will note that the size of the new file is really small enough for any uploading.
