Mozilla Thunderbird: More easy to use now

Mozilla Thunderbird is open source email client that supports POP. Previously thunderbird has to be configured for sending and receiving Gmail messages. From now on i.e., Thunderbird 2.0 there is no need to configure. We need to select the Gmail option and the configuration is set up automatically. Then as usual Thunderbird will ask for the password while sending and receiving mails only for the first time.

Thunderbird also provides better security from viruses by blocking images, JavaScript etc that is sent through email.

Update: Don’t use the Gmail option while adding your email address to Mozilla Thunderbird instead use the method shown here. Also verify your Thunderbird configuration using Gmail POP Troubleshooter. This is recommended to find the error in your settings.

POP Port = 995

SMTP Port = 465
