Dangers of diabetes

I am going to share 2 cases of diabetes that I saw in my neighborhood. The names are changed to protect the identities. The only thing that is important is the effect of diabetes on normal persons and the consequences. This is just to share whatever I witnessed and not intended to horrify anybody.

1. Padmanaban worked in a respectable company. His son is well settled and daughter is married. He lives with his wife. He had Diabetes. Though he went to doctors and took medical advice, at one time his kidney failed to work. Kidney is the excretory organ of human body which sends out the unwanted digested fluids out of our body. When kidney fails to function our body gets accumulated by unwanted salt and water. Kidney transplantation is not easy as you might know that the person who donates kidney needs to have a clean health. Fortunately Padmanaban got a kidney donated from one of his very close relative. The expenses that he incurred for medicines, hospital and treatment were steep indeed.

2. Ismail was 40 at that time. He used to take diabetes medicines regularly. One day he found too much pain in one of his legs. He was admitted to a private hospital. Doctors said they had to do an operation to cut off his leg from his body and if they don’t do it then it might even cause death. Ismail’s family didn’t want to take risk and the operation was performed. The next day was Id (a holiday). So doctors were on leave. There were only nurses at that time. Ismail felt pain that day. One of the nurses gave an injection of pain killer and the injection was given in excess. That took away the life of Ismail and he was dead.

The root cause of both the cases was diabetes. It paved the way for kidney failure and pain in leg. If there is heart problem it yields to heart attack alone. But if there is diabetes it leads to malfunctioning of several other parts of the body. That is one reason why diabetes should be taken seriously and your health should be given top priority if you have diabetes.

  1. This page/information is pointless, stupid, and is made just to scare people. I am diabetic, I have been since I was 2 months old and I am 15 years of age now. If a person takes good care of their diabetes (which includes eating a healthy diet and doing an aerobic (cardio)workout for 20 to 30 minutes 4 to 5 times a week)none of these things will happen. The part in the above story about the pain killer overdose could have happened to anyone, not just a person with diabetes. Just because a person goes to a doctor and takes medical advice does not mean he/she is taking care of themselves. You can take advice and listen but that does mean you are actually following the advice given to you. So my suggestion is that before a person decides to make their own web page they should study the thing they’re writing about! Clearly this person knew nothing at all!!!!
