Searchmash - Google testing new search
Google is testing new search features in a different name called searchmash. The domain name searchmash.com is registered by google. Currently searchmash offers image and web search. The about page shows
SearchMash lets you search the internet in new ways. It is constantly evolving as we come up with ideas and figure out what works and what doesn’t. Check out our features page from time to time to see what has changed, and also to tell us which ones are useful to you. Please bear with us when the site is unavailable as we are limiting its use.
In the search results page the URL’s are shown in green color. The green colored URLs on clicking show options for refining your search terms or to visiting that page. Three image results are displayed if available at the right side of search results page. The search results are numbered (Yahoo search shows numbered search results). Additionally you can reorder the results. The result shown in the second position can be dragged to the first position or vice versa. This is just for fun as of now. But they are looking at ideas to utilize this feature. In future, maybe users could recommend which result is in the top. At present no ads are seen in the search results page.
