Ping your blog

After writing a new post in your blog, how will you notify others that there is a new post in your blog? For this purpose there are a number of pinging services. A pinging service just tells the other websites that your blog has been updated. Pingomatic is one such and is popular in the current scenario.

To ping your blog, you should visit Pingomatic, type the title of your blog, correct URL, and select the services to be pinged which includes technorati, yahoo, feedburner, blogroll etc. Then you should click the button “Submit Pings”. After doing this your blog will show that it is updated.

List of Pinging Services

Pingoat

Pingomatic

Blogflux Pinger

KingPing

iPings

Ping at Feedburner

Ping at Blogrolling

Ping at Technorati

You should wait for the page to show the results and then bookmark the page so that whenever you visit the bookmark your blog is pinged automatically.

Pinging your blog is very important especially if you use feedburner feeds. Otherwise, even though you post new posts the readers won’t be able to see the new posts in their feed readers.
