Rain rain go away
The heaviest monsoon rains in the century took its toll to more than 900 in Maharashtra, India. The total of western India drenched in water. The people were urged to stay at home and not to venture out.
There is also a forecast that there may be further heavy rainfall. The state police had conformed 899 deaths already. It is expected that the total may touch 1000 with 400 deaths in Mumbai alone.
Dead bodies of humans and animals are scattered alike in Mumbai and its suburbs. People fear the outbreak of epidemic diseases due to this. The causes of death were landslips, submerging, electrocution in flooded streets and even suffocation inside their cars, due to the heavy water flooding outside.
Thousands of people are protesting with anger for want of electricity and drinking water. All the flights to and from Mumbai are either cancelled or delayed. Long distance trains are cancelled for a week. People are unable to move out of Mumbai. Tremendous pressure is building on Airlines.
An Air India Boeing 747 aircraft slipped away from the runway due to heavy rain in Bombay on Saturday while returning from the tech city of Bangalore which made closing up operations in the airport.
