Nowadays no one is taking care of Tamil cinema. No youngster is coming farword to direct a film. We have only a limited number of directors like Mani Rathnam, Shankar and so on… Regarding Mani Rathnam, only a few films of him are worth enough to watch. Also he doesnt give enough salary to the employees (actor, actress, etc…). Shankar follows the same as Mani Rathnam in distributing the money.

Let us take the latest movies.
Chandramukhi - Rajni will come as usual with style. This film is remade from a Malayalam movie. The Malayalam version would be fine. But Chandramukhi is made, keeping in mind only Rajnikanth.

Mumbai Express - Music by Illayaraja is worth enough to hear. But only 1 or 2 songs in the film. This film looks like a Hollywood flick. But I don’t know from which English film, Kamal Hassan has copied. Kamal Hassan has as usual, acted well. There is moderate comedy in this film. I think he should have added some more comedy in order to boost up the film. The film at some stage seems to be boring. But, it is not the usual masala film.

Sachin - I haven’t seen the film but I am sure that it as a usual masala with 6 songs, 6 fights, etc… Nothing much to tell about Sachin.

Directors of Hollywood does have the same brain as the directors of Kollywood. But the kollywood directors do not use their brains. They are unfit to direct any films. All the Tamil directors are of no use. They won’t even try to use their brains a bit.
