Existence of ghosts
According to Newton’s third law of motion, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”. When we believe that there is a supernatural power which is the driving force for each and every particle in this world. Then we have to believe that there are some bad elements roaming around this planet. According to Indian belief, people who die with their unfulfilled wishes become ghosts. Also people who face an unnatural death become ghosts. Unnatural in the sense death due to accidents, murder, suicide etc…
People who die with unfulfilled wishes won’t have their physical body but the souls will be wandering here and there. There are both good and bad ghosts. Good ghosts are the ones which will do good to the public or will not harm the innocent people. The Bad ghosts satisfy their own unfulfilled dreams by harming others. Since ghosts doesn’t have a body of their own they get inside a living person’s body and fulfill their greedy desires.
There are lots of priests or poojaris or mandravadis available in India to bring out the ghosts from the affected persons. I don’t know how many of them are fake and how many of them are genuine. But there is one woman near Tiruthani (Tamilnadu) who is doing this job. I went to Tirutani to witness the happenings there. It was a remote village near Tiruttani. All the men and woman arrived at her house. An 18 or 19 year old girl was seated before her. The woman wore big kumkumam in her forehead. Behind her there were pictures of almost all the Hindu Gods. The lady asked the affected girl her name, age etc. She took a bunch of neem leaves in her hands. She told everybody else to utter God’s names as the ghost is going to get out of her body. The woman put the neem leaves on the girl’s heads and after a few seconds the girl started shouting, “Let me go, let me go”. Immediately the woman asked her “who are you? And why did you come into the young girls’ body?” Then the conversation goes like this…
Girl- I won’t tell. You do whatever you can (now the voice of the girl is different)
Woman- Oh I see, so you won’t tell! (Saying so she slapped her head with neem leaves)
Girl- Don’t beat me. I will tell. I am mallika (this is not the girl’s name). I committed suicide myself. I liked to get inside the girls body and enjoy the life. So I came here. And I will not go.
Woman- (chanting some God’s name) She again slapped her head with the neem leaves.
And immediately with crying sound the girl felt unconscious. Thus the woman drived the ghost away from the girls body. All these things I saw with my own eyes.
There is also one another story. The man was a very pious person. He used to go for long walks. One evening while returning after going for walk, he lost the way. As it became darker, he couldn’t find the way to his house. At that time he heard the sound of a leg ring (golusu which is worn by ladies in their legs). On hearing the sound, he followed her. He thought of asking her the way. After reaching the graveyard, he found the girl disappear. He also heard the voices of some ghosts there. He then realized that she was a ghost. He immediately turned back, started chanting God’s names and started walking. He reached the house late that night. Because of God’s help, he reached the house. For the next 5 days, he suffered from severe fever. After he recovered he told everything that had happened that night. Thus he escaped from the trap of the ghosts with the help of God.
There are many more stories about ghosts. Some stories are real and some are imaginary. Many people have lost their sleeps due to the fear of ghosts in the nights. Many people do not believe in the existence of ghosts. It still remains a question unanswered whether ghosts exists in this world or not.
