Firefox - best bet for Internet Explorer
I recently downloaded the latest version of firefox(v1.0). Firefox is one of the best alternatives for Internet Explorer (IE in short). Of course some unique features of IE cannot be found in firefox. Let us see the features of firefox one by one in detail.
1) Clean Installation - The installation and un-installation of firefox is very clean. Even a novice can install or uninstall firefox. So no need to fear weather the system may crash / fail / missing files etc,
2) Tabbed Browsing - This is a nice feature every one will like. Open a single firefox window and browse five or six pages simultaneously. Shortcuts are available to open a new tab, to close a tab and to browse in between tabs.
3) Block Pop Ups - Firefox has an inbuilt pop-up blocker. All the bookmarks from IE can be imported to firefox.
4) Less chance of crashes - According to me, I can say that IE v6 (WinXP pro sp1) crashes often, while firefox has not even crashed once.
5) Speed - I found firefox’s speed almost equal to that of IE. Exceptionally sometimes firefox may be slower than IE.
6) Search - Search Google, yahoo,.. without going to their site itself. Firefox has its own search box from which you can search anything in the web through different search engines.
7) Rubber like - The rubber like interface of firefox is nice and integrates well with Windows XP.
To conclude, Firefox is the best bet for Internet Explorer. Those who hate IE or see frequent crashes in their IE just go and download firefox. You will like the features of firefox and enjoy using it. Though firefox cannot be a complete substitute of IE, firefox almost serves 85% to 90% the features of Internet Explorer.
